As Malaysia celebrates the diversity that unites its people, the journey of Joubert Joisin from Sime Industrial, is a testament to the power of growth, perseverance and collaboration.
A proud Sabahan, Joubert is currently the Head of Service Operations at Tractors Petroleum Services (TPS)in Labuan. In just three years, he progressed from Executive, Engineer, Sales & Service Operation to leading the service operations team, reflecting his dedication and commitment to excellence.
Before joining Sime, Joubert built his engineering experience across Sabah, working in marine engineering, offshore operations and mechanical engineering. These experiences not only strengthened his technical capabilities but also shaped his belief in the importance of working together towards a common goal.
For Joubert, being Malaysian is less about culture or festivities and more about people coming together despite their different backgrounds.
"Being Malaysian is about people striving together even when we come from different backgrounds."
This perspective influences both his leadership style and daily interactions. He believes understanding others is the foundation for achieving success together, a principle that aligns closely with Sime's culture and values.
One value he carries with him every day is to never judge a person by appearances, recognising that everyone has a unique story shaped by resilience and hope.
Looking ahead, Joubert remains optimistic about the nation's future.
"What gives me hope is the resilience of our people and the strength of our unity. I believe that together, we can go further and achieve greater success as Malaysians."
