Muhamad Zulhaizam – Keeping Malaysia Moving

As Malaysia celebrates another year of independence, it is a timely moment to reflect on the values that define our nation, such as unity, resilience and progress.
Since joining Sime Industrial in 2015, Muhamad Zulhaizam has built a career rooted in curiosity, precision and purpose. What began as a fascination with machinery evolved into a deep passion for maintenance and reliability—skills that are essential to keeping Malaysia’s industrial heartbeat strong.
As an electrician in full-service maintenance, Zulhaizam brings over a decade of hands-on experience to Sime Industrial, one of the world’s largest Cat dealer groups. His daily responsibilities include installing CAT machines, conducting commissioning exercises and ensuring equipment operates seamlessly from day one. His role demands technical expertise, sharp coordination and a commitment to minimising downtime—because every minute counts in keeping production lines moving.
For Zulhaizam, the most rewarding part of his job is the continuous learning. Each new concept, each mechanical challenge, adds to his growing toolkit of skills. These upgrades not only enhance his personal capabilities but also build trust with clients who rely on his precision and reliability, especially under tight deadlines or in demanding environments.
Sime Industrial has played a key role in his development, offering targeted training and opportunities to advance his professional qualifications. This investment reflects a broader national ethos: a skilled, adaptable workforce is vital to Malaysia’s resilience, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
Zulhaizam’s work helps maintain the integrity of critical infrastructure—preventing breakdowns, enabling swift issue resolution and supporting the continuity of economic activity. Whether it’s a smoother commute or a safer workplace, his contributions ripple through communities across the country.
To Zulhaizam, Merdeka represents more than just freedom—it’s about the ability to express ideas, communicate openly and actively participate in the nation’s progress. He sees this freedom reflected in his daily work, where individual initiative fuels collective advancement.
He believes his role embodies the spirit of unity and dedication: “bermasyarakat tidak kira bangsa”—a community that works together, regardless of background, to move the nation forward. Through daily repairs, proactive maintenance and collaborative problem-solving, Zulhaizam exemplifies Malaysia’s resilience and the strength of its people.
Looking ahead, he hopes younger Malaysians will embrace curiosity, lifelong learning and a service-minded attitude. His journey is a testament to how quiet diligence, done with care and consistency, can leave a lasting impact—turning everyday tasks into a legacy of progress for Malaysia.
