Encik Megat Shahrul Azmir, Male, 55, Malaysian, is the Group Chief Corporate Services Officer of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed on 1 October 2024. He has dual role as the Managing Director of the Equipment Division at Sime UMW as well.
With over 30years of expertise in strategy, growth, business turnarounds, manufacturing and management consulting. Encik Megat began career as an engineer with Intel Corporation.
Prior to joining UMW, he was attached to General Electric (“GE”), focusing on country strategy, business development and enterprise sales in Malaysia. He later advanced to the role of Asia-Pacific Marketing Director for GE Power & Water business, where he led strategic development and execution across 20 countries in the region.
During his tenure at Accenture, Encik Megat led various projects aimed at enhancing strategy, technology, processes and organisations. He possesses extensive experience in corporate strategy, program management, business process reengineering, and business integration across diverse industries, including automotive, oil and gas, telecommunications, manufacturing, and the public sector.
Encik Megat holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Widener University, USA.
