Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, 65, a Malaysian, is the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed to the Board on 1 September 2020.
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri served as Chairman of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) from 2020 to 2024. Prior to this, he served as the Secretary General of Treasury in the Ministry of Finance from 12 September 2018. He was a member of the EPF Investment Panel from 2014 to 2024 and has extensive experience in strategic investment, loan management, financial markets, and actuarial science.
He began his career as a Senior Valuation Executive at C.H. Williams, Talhar & Wong Sdn. Bhd. before being appointed as Assistant Secretary in the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance in 1989, where he served for nearly 30 years.
He is currently Chairman of both RHB Bank Berhad and Malaysian Rubber Board (Lembaga Getah Malaysia) and has previously served as a Director of Bank Negara Malaysia, the Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP), Permodalan Nasional Berhad, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad, among others.
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri holds a degree in Land and Property Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
