Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin Raja Abdul Aziz

Tengku Azmil began his career with Price Waterhouse in London in 1993 and later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hong Kong, where he served as a Senior Manager from 1999 to 2002. He then returned to Malaysia, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and subsequently Chief Executive Officer of Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad. Tengku Azmil was Executive Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) from 2011 to 2018 and Chief Investment Officer/Deputy Managing Director from 2018 to 2022, overseeing Khazanah’s investment portfolio. Before joining Khazanah, he was Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of Malaysia Airlines from 2009 to 2011, having previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer/ Executive Director.

Tengku Azmil is currently the Chairperson of CelcomDigi Berhad and CIMB Thai Bank Public Company Limited, a company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. He also serves as a Director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad. Previously, he was a Director of Axiata Group Berhad, IHH Healthcare Berhad, and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre Berhad (MaGIC) and served as Chairman of UEM Group Berhad.

Tengku Azmil holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board.
