Dato’ Abdul Rahman Ahmad

Dato’ Rahman is currently the President & Group Chief Executive ("PGCE") of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (“PNB”). He previously served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Bank Berhad from 2020 to 2024, and earlier as the PGCE of PNB between 2016 and 2019.

Dato’ Rahman has held senior leadership positions across a broad range of sectors, including as Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and Media Prima Berhad, and as Chief Executive Officer of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad. He also served as the Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Sime Darby Berhad from 2019 to 2020 and Velesto Energy Berhad from 2017 to 2019.

Dato’ Rahman began his career with Arthur Andersen, London, before serving as Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Trenergy (M) Berhad and Turnaround Managers Inc. (M) Sdn Bhd. He subsequently joined Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, where he served as Unit Head, and was later appointed as Executive Director and Founding Partner of SSR Associates Sdn Bhd.

Dato’ Abdul Rahman holds a Masters of Arts in Economics from the Cambridge University, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
